ELVIS: DECEMBER 1956 (Limited First Print Run of Just 50 copies individually hand numbered by the author) by Paul Belard
DECEMBER 1956 was professionally a fairly quiet month. No TV appearances, nor any concert tours. The only performance Elvis gave was in Shreveport where he appeared for the last time ever on the Hayride (December 16).
Three days after the legendary "Million Dollar Quartet" jam at SUN on the 4th Elvis attended the WDIA Goodwill Revue at Ellis Auditorium in Memphis. The event was segregated affair and because of the Jim Crow laws at the time, Elvis should not have attended.
