A shirt that belonged to Elvis Presley will be the star attraction at a display in a village hall.

The exhibition has been organised by retired businessman Mr Alex Solomon, 69, of Collingham, who said he enjoyed collecting unusual items and wanted to share them with other

He bought the long-sleeved green shirt for his wife, Mrs Carla Solomon, 57, for £4,000 after seeing it advertised on a website 18 months ago.

It had been in the Elvis-A-Rama Museum in the US for 40 years.

“It felt lovely when I put it on."

“She is a huge fan and I wanted her to have it,” Mr Solomon said.

Mrs Solomon, who has visited Elvis’ Graceland home, said she put the shirt on when it arrived but it was now stored in a presentation case.

“It felt lovely when I put it on,” she said.

Mr Solomon said he had collected so many interesting items that he wanted to share them.

He has booked Collingham Memorial Hall for the temporary exhibition on April 30.
If it is a success Mr Solomon hopes to take it to other venues.

Admission to the exhibition, which will run from 10am to 4pm, is £2.50 for adults and £1 for children.

Mr Solomon does not expect to make a profit, but if he does a donation will be given to the appeal for the victims of the Westminster Bridge terror attack in London.
