My wife does like a bit of Big Brother. And while Mrs D was watching one of the episodes of the new "Celebrity" series for 2017, all of a sudden my interest is grabbed when I hear
"ELVIS" mentioned...."Huh what? umm why?

OK, I'll tell you. Angie Best (former wife of football legend George Best) is one of the housemates and she is sharing the experience with her son, Calum Best. During one particular
task, several of the Celeb Housemates had to interview the remaining Celebs about things of interest that had happened in their lives. Now then, while Calum Best was on the
panel, his Mother, Angie was one of the interviewees.

The panel were given some basic information about each interviewee and amongst Angie Best's was, "Met Elvis Presley".... Of course, the panel were excited to find out more and
as her son was part of the panel, he opened the questions with, "“Am I actually Elvis’ son?” To which Mum Angie jokingly replies: “Yes, but I never told anyone up until now…that’s
why you’re so tall and your dad was so short.”

There were a few more things said regarding the meeting with Elvis (don't worry that's coming), but the whole am I Elvis' Son "joke" appears to have been taken a little more serious
by those crazy tabloids with headlines like....

As you can see, what was in actual fact a little mention about meeting Elvis in Vegas and a tiny joke is quickly hashed into these bull crap "NEWS" stories like this....

"Last night we watched as George Best’s ex revealed that she once went backstage and had a bit of a tryst with Elvis. She even hinted that the singing superstar could be Cal’s
real father.

As Angie told her story to fellow housemates yesterday evening, her son looked shocked by the revelations. Mr Best asked: Am I actually Elvis’ son?
Angie joked that it all made sense and that Calum gets his height from his ‘real’ father and not the football legend. She teased: “Yes, but I never told anyone up until now…that’s
why you’re so  tall and your dad was so short.

Revealing how the encounter took place, the blonde beauty went on: “I was 19, I went to see Elvis Presley and afterwards we went backstage and he said ‘Can we exchange
numbers?’ I gave him my number, but I never called him."

Another thing Angie mentioned while telling her story was this....
"When I was taken into his room I was shocked at how good looking he was, I mean he was beautiful, a really
fantastic looking man. But he was bloated, you know how he got, and he was so very lonely...."

She was 19 when she met Elvis which places her meeting him in ether 1970 or 1971, a time when he looked fantastic and was in great shape and was in no way bloated.

In reality, Angie was taken to see Elvis live in Vegas as the guessed of George Hamilton, below, is the event as told by Hamilton and Angie Best herself from 2009....

Elvis Presley stole the girlfriend of his friend George Hamilton?
Hamilton, who has a reputation as one of Hollywood's greatest Casanovas, revealed that he had gone to one of Elvis' Las Vegas concerts with his girlfriend Angie MacDonald-
Janes, who went on to marry footballer George Best.

The perma-tanned actor said he had waited for 45 minutes while Angie went to Elvis' dressing room - and then left, feeling 'like an idiot'.

"But when The Mail on Sunday contacted Angie Best, she gave a rather different version of events.

She insisted her time backstage with Elvis was 'entirely innocent', although the singer gave her a turquoise ring and insisted she take his phone number. And she says that
Hamilton was so jealous that he sneakily changed the numbers in her address book so she couldn't contact Elvis.

The story emerged in last night's edition of the show as Hamilton, 70, told his fellow contestants about the concert in 1971.

He said: 'There was a girl in London who I was dating called Angie - she married a footballer named Best. I was dating her so I brought her to Elvis's show. We went backstage.'

'Elvis was changing and he saw Angie and of course Angie just thought he was incredible. She said something about his concho belt [a native American belt with several metal

'She said, "Elvis, where did you get those?" He said, "I've got a lot of them, I've got a collection, would you like to see them?" Well, I thought he was going to bring out the collection,
but he said, "Come with me".

'So I see her go off and I'm waiting and waiting - 45 minutes go by and I felt like an idiot.

'So I got up and said, "Guys, please tell Elvis that I saw the show and send him my best and please tell the young lady that it was lovely to see her and I hope all goes well" and I
walk out of the casino.

'I never saw her again until 18, 20 years later on a plane and we were both going to London and she said, "Hi George, remember me?" And I said, "Angie, what happened?" She
said, "Nothing". I said, "I waited 45 minutes and I never forgot it."'

But last night Angie said of her brief relationship with Hamilton: 'It's funny how people's memories are different. He does sound a little bit bitter.
'I had just arrived in Los Angeles from England. I was just 19 at the time, and I didn't really know who Elvis was, not properly. 'George took me on a private jet from LA with Sammy
Davis Jr and his wife to Las Vegas. We went to the hotel and we watched the show, and afterwards the Colonel came over to our table and asked if I wanted to come backstage to
meet Elvis.

'George didn't like that at all, so he said I couldn't go, but the Colonel came back a little bit later and said Elvis had spotted me in the crowd and thought I was the prettiest girl there.
'I went back and spent about 45 minutes with Elvis. He wasn't my type at all - I'm English, I don't go for a man wearing a white jumpsuit with glittering stars!
'He poured his heart out to me about how unhappy he was and how he couldn't find love, and he just wanted to find someone to love and settle down with.

'To be honest, I was falling asleep. It was a bit of a rant - I think he was on drugs. But when I went to leave, he said, "Can I give you my number? I'd love to see you again". So he
wrote his number in my book. And he gave me this turquoise ring he was wearing.'
She said Hamilton was still there when she returned from her conversation with Elvis.

'He must have stayed because we flew back to LA on the private jet with Sammy Davis Jr. I didn't go on any more dates with George after that. That was the end of him - he was
such a womaniser.

'But I did see him about 15 years later, and he admitted he had gone into my little black book - it must have been on the private jet - and had changed the numbers so I couldn't call

Angie, 57, met George Best in LA four years later. They married in 1978 and had one son, Calum.

She now splits her time between London and LA, running her fitness centres Best Bodies, with a new one opening in Henley, Oxfordshire, next week.

'I've still got the ring,' she said. 'I keep it in a very special box. The last person to wear that ring was Elvis Presley.'
