A FUN-LOVING video of residents at a care home jiving to an Elvis Presley song has gone 'viral' on social media this week.

More than 15,000 people have viewed Abbey Wood Lodge care home residents John, Audrey, Marguerite and Beryl dancing to King Creole by 'the King of Rock 'n' Roll' in a video
uploaded on social media site Facebook.

The heart-warming video has been picked up by ITV's breakfast show Good Morning Britain, who plan to feature the clip this week.

Events organiser Lesley Malone said: “This video will help to change people's perceptions of care homes. Activities and events in care homes are the answer for ageing well and
living a great quality of life.

“There are more than 200 comments on the clip from families and friends who visit the Abbey Wood Lodge care home Facebook page, which is open for anyone to view. These
comments are lovely and help management and staff want even more to keep going the extra mile and putting on more meaningful activities and events. Families and friends of our
residents are always saying that the residents have more of a social life than themselves and laugh about it.

“Music is one of the sparks that triggers a memory and you feel you want to get up and dance with the feeling of happiness and laughter – and it is only natural to have that feeling.
Music stimulates the brain and you get more energy to able to dance even if it's just a foot movement or a twist like our lovely residents are doing on the video!”
