A Review By Moggy
Hi Lee,
Just watched 'Elvis On Tour' twice and now I will give my view on it.
Obviously I am gutted at no 'Johnny B. Goode' being removed and only to be replaced by 'Don't Be Cruel'. I think it needed to be a faster, more up tempo
song, i.e. 'Burning Love', 'Proud Mary'...The movie intro just didn't work or give you the buzz as before..

The picture quality is much improved, great close ups of Elvis and clear shots and colours of the crowd, a lot more detail, I was impressed...

For the first time I noticed a camera man hanging out of the car following Elvis after the white suit segment and I always loved watching the final segment as
Elvis enters the stage to sing 'I Got A Women' the cascade of flash bulbs is amazing and so much better to watch when you room is dark, wow the king has
entered the building..

Now, the sound has much been improved, you hear a lot more of the background conversations and amazing sound from the band, the bass Jerry plays in
'Polk Salad Annie' blew me away and Elvis' voice is so clear and powerful. 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' and 'An American Trilogy' were amazing, and as for
'You Gave Me A Mountain', this had me close to tears, I just love that song...

I think the DVD is a must for us fans but I do think they could have given us more. Like the release of 'That's The Way It Is' but I'm glad I have got the New
'Elvis On Tour', I love the film but I really did miss 'Johnny B. Goode' (What a fool Chuck Berry is).
Cheers Moggy
